I assisted Set Designer Anne Koch on this shoot with photographer David Slijper – it’s always exciting when the magazine comes out: Continue reading Blake Lively shoot for Bullett
“Chaser” wrapped on Sunday. Another great team: Dir/Prod Sal Bardo, DP Nikolas Rossi, 1st AD Jeremiah Kipp & starring Max Rhyser. The first day was intense. A sex party with about 15 background actors shot all over a 3 level house in the West Village. Trying to be on set props & wardrobe on level 3, while restoring the location after shooting on level 1, … Continue reading And another one down
Congratulations to the exceptional cast and crew! We made it a very happy shoot in spite of trying conditions – getting slow-cooked in the basement on day 1 and “borched” on day 2 (that’s when the sun’s so bright you can’t decide whether you’re getting burnt or scorched). Special congrats to superwoman Cherelle – executive producer, writer, mom, actor – and she let a film … Continue reading Twinkle!
Three short film scripts landed in my inbox today in search of production designers. THREE. After a month of ZERO. Whatever alignment the planets are in right now I sure hope they stay there! Continue reading Jackpot!

There was a fierce wind, the photographer was freezing, the camera assistant sprained her ankle, the models were shaking. It was fun! Everyone was tired, with chapped hands … Continue reading Boat Shoot
One of the key stages of initiation into film & television. Mine was in a New Jersey supermarket on a commercial for a feminine hygiene product. Luckily it was a super-professional crew that managed to keep smiling all night, and of course there was an unlimited supply of caffeine. I’ve heard of worse initiation ceremonies. Continue reading Night Shoot in a Supermarket
Working for an artist certainly has its advantages: Anne took me to the dress rehearsal of Michael Clark’s performance at the Whitney. It was incredibly special. Dance, music & lighting loosely woven. Unusual yet coherent. The kind of production that trusts its audience to find meaning and understand the piece each in his or her own way. Art is incomplete without the participation of the … Continue reading Michael Clark In Residence
As of Saturday I’ve been bumped up from art director to production designer on No Vagrancy. Life is suddenly very complicated and absolutely enthralling. Prop sourcing literally involves picking up rubbish from the side of the road and I’m happy to report that New York is providing me with a never-ending buffet. NY is good at trash. I also get to shop in hardware stores, … Continue reading Promotion
